In the Jubilee Year, God’s arms full of grace and forgiveness open anew for each one of us. We also have the opportunity to find a new, better way to God and to others; in the family, among classmates, siblings, neighbors, in our homes, at work, in short, everywhere we are, and set out towards the goal, which is Jesus Christ.
To ensure we remain strong in faith and have a good pilgrimage in the Holy Year, we will be accompanied and assisted by some child saints. We will also journey to certain Czech pilgrimage sites associated with plenary indulgences.

The Year 2025 will be “Jubilee”. What does it mean?
A “Jubilee” Holy Year is typically celebrated once every twenty-five years so that everyone has the opportunity to experience it. The Holy Year is proclaimed by the Pope and is derived from the Latin word jubileo – to rejoice.
A part of every jubilee is the “Holy Door,” which is located in the Basilica of St. Peter and in other Roman basilicas. The “Holy Door” symbolizes Christ and his mercy. Jesus Himself says about Himself: “I am the door; if anyone enters by me, he will be saved.” (John 9:10)
The inauguration of the Jubilee Year in our diocese took place on the Feast of the Holy Family on December 29, 2024, at St. Nicholas Cathedral. “May the journey to the cathedral be a sign of the journey of hope, which, illuminated by God’s word, unites the faithful,” writes Pope Francis in the bull “Hope does not disappoint – Spes non confundit”, which proclaimed the Grace Year 2025.
