In Rome, the Jubilee of artists and the world of culture has begun.

Representatives of the world's most significant museums were present at the meeting, including directors from the National Gallery in London and Washington and the Prado National Museum in Madrid. "We want to show the importance of passing on our cultural heritage, which is connected to the values of Christianity," said Barbara Jatta, director of the Vatican Museums.

The Jubilee of Artists and the World of Culture was originally set to begin with an audience with the Holy Father in the Aula Paolo VI. However, due to the Pope's hospitalization, it was canceled. The first item of the Jubilee was thus the meeting organized by the Vatican Museums.

"We wanted this Jubilee not to be intended only for artists in the strict sense, but to involve those who navigate in various ways in the world of art and contribute to the preservation and promotion of culture. This includes curators and museum directors, university professors, but also exhibition organizers and antique dealers," added Barbara Jatta.

This weekend's program features a number of additional lectures and discussions, during which a joint document will be drawn up on how to transmit cultural heritage to future generations.
