Martyrs of Hope presents a virtual exhibition.

Martyrs of Hope presents a virtual exhibition.

The virtual exhibition tells nineteen stories: among others, Blessed Richard Henkes, Blessed Marie Antonína Kratochvílová, Blessed Metoděj Dominik Trčka, and other men and women who suffered due to their work for God and the Church under the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. Parts of some of them have already been dedicated by Fr. Larisch in his books – for example, to Fr. Alois Šebela, Fr. Karel Schrammel, or Eduard Schlusche.

You can view and study the panels here.

Fr. Jan Larisch introduces the exhibition with the words of Pope Francis from the bull Spes non confundit (Hope does not disappoint), which announced the Jubilee Year 2025.

“The most convincing witnesses of this hope are the martyrs, who, thanks to their firm belief in the risen Christ, were able to give up their very lives here on earth so as not to betray their Lord. They have lived in all times, and there are many of them today, perhaps more than ever before. They are the confessors of a life that knows no end. It is necessary for us to guard their testimony, thus allowing our hope to be fruitful.” Pope Francis: Spes non confundit (Hope does not disappoint)

The portraits of the victims of the Nazi and communist regimes among the clergy who worked in the territory of the Ostrava-Opava diocese were processed by Fr. Larisch HERE.
